UPPER DIR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, paid a visit to Wari, Upper Dir . District Police Officer Upper Dir, Aslam Nawaz and Deputy Commissioner Dir Manzoor Ahmad Afridi received the honorable guest. A smart contingent of Upper Dir, Police presented a guard of honor to the IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The IG also visited the Martyrs’ Monument and laid a floral wreath.
IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa formally inaugurated the newly constructed Police Facilitation Center Wari and planted a sapling in the center’s premises as part of a tree plantation drive. On this occasion, the provincial police chief said that through the Police Facilitation Center, citizens will be provided with various police services under one roof through a modern digital system, including driving licenses, police clearance, character certificates, and registration of complaints.
Later, under the leadership of IGP Zulfiqar Hameed, an important meeting on law and order was held with the police, district administration and area elders in Jirga Hall Wari. The meeting included a detailed discussion on the overall security situation of the district, the challenges being faced, suggestions from local elders, and ways to make public cooperation more effective.
IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed said that lasting peace in Dir Upper is the result of mutual cooperation between the public, police and security agencies. To further enhance police capacity, modern weapons, new vehicles, armored vehicles, drone cameras, night vision and modern technology will be provided. Police stations and check posts will also be upgraded on modern lines to provide police personnel with a better and safer environment.
Paying tribute to the police and security forces martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism, he said that the sacrifices of the martyrs are a guiding light for us, and their families will be provided with all possible support.
On this occasion, the area elders presented valuable suggestions regarding law and order and reaffirmed their commitment to continue full cooperation with the police and security institutions.
