ISLAMABAD:The newly elected President of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), Syed Mohsin Gilani, met with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, in Islamabad to discuss initiatives for the promotion of football in the province.

Also present during the meeting were Shahid Shinwari, a former national footballer and associate of the Pakistan Olympic Association, and Rana Zia of the Bahawalpur Football Association.

President Gilani expressed his sincere gratitude to Governor Kundi for his cooperation and supportive role during the recent PFF elections, acknowledging his contribution as a key factor in the successful outcome.

“I am truly grateful for the role you played in supporting me throughout the process,” Gilani said.

The discussion focused on enhancing football infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the provision of modern sports facilities and AstroTurf grounds across the province.

Governor Kundi, while reaffirming his commitment to sports development, stated:

“The youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are extremely talented. Just as our players have excelled in cricket, with proper support, they can lead the nation in football as well.”

President Gilani also informed the Governor about his recent visit to the United States and shared the positive development that the FIFA President has accepted his invitation to visit Pakistan, which he described as a major step toward international football collaboration.

As a gesture of appreciation, Gilani presented Governor Kundi with a special souvenir and official PFF shirt. The Governor hosted a dinner in honor of the delegation, reaffirming his continued support for the growth of football in the region.
