WASHINGTON/ISLAMABAD: The U.S.-Pakistan relationship is gaining momentum through increased cooperation in technology, energy, business and education.
U.S. Chargé Baker joined Google executives at the opening of the company’s first office in Pakistan. Google also launched an Urdu-language child online safety initiative and signed an agreement to provide Pakistani students with one year of free access to its AI tools. The company will establish an AI Center of Excellence in Islamabad and provide career training to 150,000 workers.
Baker Hughes also signed a landmark agreement with Pakistan’s Oil & Gas Development Company to use U.S. technology and expertise to redevelop 18 oil and gas fields across the country, strengthening cooperation in Pakistan’s energy sector.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy continued its Freedom 250 speaker series, bringing together Pakistani entrepreneurs, academics and global investment experts. American entrepreneur and investor Scott Fox participated in the latest session, highlighting opportunities for business and innovation partnerships.
In Karachi, the U.S. Consulate launched the Founders Museum’s “Road to Liberty” exhibition at the Lincoln Corner. The traveling exhibition introduces young Pakistanis and educators to America’s founding history, while EducationUSA advisers provided virtual tours of American universities.
The initiatives reflect expanding U.S.-Pakistan cooperation in technology, investment, energy, entrepreneurship and education.
