ISLAMABAD : Freedom Gate Prosperity (FGP) and the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) have expressed a strong interest in exploring collaboration to promote responsible artificial intelligence, digital innovation, research, skills development, and inclusive economic opportunities, particularly for Pakistan’s youth.
This was discussed during a meeting held at NCAI-NUST between Prof. Dr. Yasar Ayaz, Chairman and Central Director of NCAI, and an FGP delegation comprising Muhammad Anwar, Chief Executive Officer, and Shafqat Aziz, Strategic Policy Advisor.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Anwar said that artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping economies, industries and labour markets, creating new opportunities for innovation, entrepreneurship and employment. He emphasized the need for Pakistan to prepare its young population for the changing world of work by strengthening digital skills, encouraging innovation and building stronger linkages among research institutions, academia, industry and development organizations.
He added that FGP is keen to promote informed dialogue and collaborative initiatives that translate technological advancement into inclusive economic opportunities and sustainable development.
Prof. Dr. Yasar Ayaz highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence research and innovation in strengthening Pakistan’s technological and economic competitiveness. He emphasized the need to invest in indigenous research, human capital, and practical AI applications across key sectors, while creating opportunities for young researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs to contribute to the emerging digital economy.
He also stressed the importance of stronger collaboration among research institutions, academia, industry, government and development organizations to ensure that AI-driven innovation responds effectively to Pakistan’s national development priorities.
Shafqat Aziz shared FGP’s perspective on the need to broaden public understanding and policy discourse around artificial intelligence and the economic and social transformation associated with emerging technologies. He also highlighted the potential of AI-based solutions in addressing pressing development challenges, including environmental protection and climate change.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to explore practical avenues of cooperation between FGP and NCAI-NUST. These may include knowledge sharing, policy dialogue, collaborative research, skills development, public awareness, and initiatives promoting youth innovation, entrepreneurship, and AI-enabled economic opportunities.
