PESHAWAR: The 20th All Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muay Thai Championship concluded in Peshawar with participation from a large number of players representing various districts and divisions of the province.
After thrilling and competitive bouts, Peshawar secured first position, followed by Malakand in second, Mardan in third and Kohat Division in fourth position.
Secretary General Pakistan Muay Thai Federation Mian Rehan was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He distributed position medals and trophies among the outstanding players, while commemorative shields were also presented to the event officials.
Pakistan Police coach Imran, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muay Thai Association President Ilyas Afridi, Secretary General Inayatullah and other personalities were also present on the occasion. The championship was formally inaugurated by Shah Faisal, Assistant Director Accounts, Sports Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mian Rehan appreciated the efforts being made to promote Muay Thai in the province and provide athletes with opportunities to showcase their talent. He congratulated the successful players and expressed hope that such competitions would help identify more talented athletes who could represent the province and Pakistan at national and international levels.
Ilyas Afridi and Inayatullah also thanked all participating players, officials and organisers for their cooperation. They said the association would continue its efforts to promote Muay Thai, discover new talent and provide better opportunities to athletes across the province.
At the conclusion of the championship, prizes were distributed among the winning teams and outstanding players. The services of the organisers and officials in successfully conducting the event were also appreciated.
