PESHAWAR: Three young men from Shangla district were killed when a coal mine collapsed in the Bora Pista area of Hassan Khel, near Peshawar.
According to correspondent Syed Sajid Shah, the deceased were identified as Anzar Gul, son of Wazir Jan, resident of Garo Sar Banda; Hafeez, son of Zubair, resident of Garo Sar Banda; and Hafeez, son of Ghafoor, resident of Pagora.
The miners were reportedly trapped under a large amount of earth following the collapse and died at the site. The incident caused grief in the area, while the families of the deceased mourned the loss of their loved ones.
A large number of young people from Shangla work in coal mines away from their homes in search of employment. Local residents said repeated mining accidents have caused significant loss of life among workers from the area.
They urged the government and relevant authorities to ensure strict implementation of mining safety regulations and take effective measures to protect mine workers from such accidents.
