PESHAWAR: Dr. Yousaf Jamal Mahsood, Associate Professor of Glaucoma and Chairperson, Department of Ophthalmology, Khyber Girls Medical College/Hayatabad Medical Complex (KGMC-HMC), Peshawar, has been honoured with the prestigious Prof. Muhammad Daud Khan Gold Medal in recognition of his contributions to ophthalmology, glaucoma care, medical education and research.
Dr. Yousaf Jamal has played an important role in strengthening specialised glaucoma services and postgraduate training at HMC. He has also contributed to the development of FCPS Glaucoma training and curriculum, helping advance structured glaucoma education in Pakistan.
His clinical and academic work focuses on improving glaucoma diagnosis and management, research, postgraduate medical education and training of young ophthalmologists.
The award recognises Dr. Yousaf Jamal Mahsood’s continued contributions to specialised eye care, academic medicine and the development of ophthalmology services at Hayatabad Medical Complex.
