Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kifayat Ullah Khan, Deputy President Pakistan Table Tennis Federation and Chairman, National Para Table Tennis, appreciated the efforts of the athletes, coaches and supporting organisations.

He said that it was a matter of pride to see athletes from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa representing Pakistan at the Asian Para Games. He also appreciated the involvement of the National Paralympic Committee and national federation in the selection process, including the role of National Para Coach Mian Absar Ali.

He expressed hope that the Pakistani athletes would perform strongly and represent the country with pride at the Asian Para Games in Japan.

Mian Absar Ali: “We Are Hopeful of Winning a Medal”

Mian Absar Ali, National Para Table Tennis Coach, expressed his gratitude to the National Paralympic Committee for confirming Pakistan’s participation and supporting the athletes.

“We are thankful to the National Paralympic Committee for confirming our participation in the Asian Para Games. The Government will bear the expenses of our two confirmed athletes, Abdullah Jan, who will compete in the TT8 standing category, and Tajmeena Bibi, who will compete in the TT5 wheelchair category. The nominations of the other athletes are still in process.”

Coach Mian Absar Ali said he was hopeful that Pakistan could achieve a medal at this year’s Asian Para Games.

“As a coach, I am very hopeful that this time we can win a medal for Pakistan. I have worked extremely hard with my athletes during this national camp, but our preparation is not limited to this camp. We have been training and working consistently for the past two to three years to develop these athletes and prepare them for international competition.”

He added that the athletes have undergone long-term technical and competition-based preparation and that the team would aim to give its best performance in Aichi-Nagoya.

The Pakistan Para Table Tennis Team is scheduled to depart for Japan in October 2026 to participate in the 5th Asian Para Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, where athletes from across Asia will compete from October 18–24.

During the national training camp, an internationally experienced official classification manager, based in England, also visited the team and conducted an informative session for the athletes. The official has extensive experience in para-sport classification and has classified athletes at major international competitions, including the Asian Youth Para Games and Commonwealth Games. During the visit, he guided the national team athletes and explained the para-sport classification process, classification requirements and anti-doping procedures, helping the players better understand the rules and responsibilities associated with competing at major international events.
The conclusion of the national camp marks the final stage of Pakistan’s preparations as the athletes prepare to represent the country and compete for medals on the Asian stage.
