KOHAT: Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah is active for the peaceful conduct of Muharram-ul-Haram in the entire Kohat Division. He held a high-level meeting in the Hangu District for peaceful holding of the Muharram-ul-Haram.
The meeting beside others, was also attended by the Commandant Thall Scouts Colonel Alamgir Yousafzai, Deputy Commissioner Hangu Gohar Zaman Wazir, DPO Hangu Muhammad Khalid Khan, other officers of the security forces and members of the peace committee as well as Sunni and Shia leaders.
A detailed discussion was held on the current security situation, possible threats, and arrangements made to maintain peace on this occasion. The meeting was informed that foolproof security arrangements have been made at all sensitive places and a coordinated plan has been prepared for the processions and gatherings of Muharram-ul-Haram.
The Sunni and Shia elders unanimously decided that the situation will not be allowed to deteriorate under any circumstances and sectarian harmony will be maintained. The elders assured the government and security agencies of their full cooperation and made it clear that every conspiracy to disturb the peaceful atmosphere will be foiled.
During the meeting, deep sorrow and grief was expressed over the martyrdom of the Assistant Commissioner Faisal Ismail, who was martyred in the Bajaur blast, and prayers were also offered for his eternal peace. The participants paid rich tributes to the martyred officer and termed his sacrifice as a matter of pride.
