PROVINCE REPORT
PESHAWAR: Prominent religious scholar and Provincial Adviser for Religious and Minority Affairs Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi has said that China’s development and the prosperity of its people offer valuable lessons for Pakistan. He stressed the need to draw on China’s development model and successful experiences while taking Pakistan’s own circumstances and needs into account.
He expressed these views during a visit to China Window, the Chinese cultural and information centre in Peshawar. He toured its various galleries, recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book and signed the Friendship Wall, expressing his best wishes for Pakistan-China friendship.
Describing China Window as an impressive centre, Maulana Qureshi said it beautifully presents different aspects of China’s history, culture and development, alongside Pakistan-China relations. Such centres, he added, play an important role in bringing people closer, promoting mutual understanding and strengthening friendship.
The provincial adviser said he had visited China three times and had been deeply impressed by its development, people’s living standards and progress across various sectors. China’s journey, he observed, demonstrates how hard work, discipline, consistency and effective planning can help nations achieve sustained progress.
He said Pakistan-China friendship rests on strong foundations of trust, respect and cooperation. Its greatest strength lies in the affection and goodwill shared by the people of both countries, and passing this bond on to younger generations is a shared responsibility.
Referring to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s views on learning from China’s development experience and expanding bilateral cooperation, he said Pakistan should focus on translating those lessons into practical benefits. Cooperation with China, he added, could make an important contribution to education, vocational training, agriculture, industry and employment opportunities.
Maulana Qureshi commended the efforts of China Window’s management, describing the centre as a beautiful symbol of Pakistan-China friendship in Peshawar. He expressed his best wishes for its continued success and the further strengthening of relations between the two countries.
