PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday visited the Central Police Command and Control Center at Kohati Gate in connection with security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

During the visit, senior police officials briefed the Governor on the overall security system in place for the central Muharram processions in Peshawar city.

The Governor was informed about the live monitoring of processions through CCTV cameras and the comprehensive security measures deployed across sensitive locations.

Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, Governor Kundi appreciated the extraordinary efforts of the police and praised their professional commitment in ensuring the safety of the public during the holy month.

Meanwhile, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi visited the central 9th Muharram-ul-Haram procession that emerged from Hussainia Imambargah in Saddar.

During the visit, the Governor reviewed the security arrangements and met with the police personnel deployed for maintaining law and order.

He also interacted with mourners participating in the procession and held meetings with Shia community elders.

Speaking to the media, Governor Kundi said that comprehensive security arrangements have been made across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the entire country to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram.

“I pray that Muharram concludes peacefully not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but throughout Pakistan,” he added.
