TANK: Dr. Ulla Schmitz, a German-American woman physician, devoted her entire life to serving humanity, providing medical care and bringing hope to countless people. Her remarkable services and dedication have made her a lasting symbol of compassion and humanity.
Dr. Ulla Schmitz served at Christian Mission Hospital Tank, where she earned immense respect and affection through her professional expertise, kindness and commitment to patients. At a time when medical facilities were limited, patients from across southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and even Punjab travelled to Tank to receive treatment from her. Many returned home recovered, carrying prayers and gratitude for her extraordinary services.
She was particularly compassionate towards poor and deserving patients, often extending financial assistance from her own pocket. Her greatness was not merely reflected in her medical skills but also in her kindness, sacrifices and genuine love for humanity.
Dr. Ulla Schmitz made Tank her home and became an inseparable part of its community. According to her reported wishes, she was laid to rest at Christian Mission Hospital Tank. Although she was originally from another country, the soil of Tank became her final resting place, reflecting her deep attachment to the people and community she served.
Her legacy continues through the Dr. Ulla Schmitz Memorial Public School, where the light of education continues to shine, keeping her name and humanitarian mission alive for future generations.
Dr. Ulla Schmitz may no longer be among us, but her compassion, dedication and countless acts of kindness will remain alive in the hearts of the people of Tank.
Indeed, Tank remains indebted to her lifelong, selfless services to humanity.
