PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information, Barrister Dr. Saif, has said that the incident of Karbala stands as the greatest example of truth, justice, and resistance against oppression.
He stated that “Karbala teaches us that one can sacrifice their life for the truth but never bow before falsehood.” The adviser added that the tragedy of Karbala continues to teach us the timeless lesson of standing firm against tyranny, no matter the era.
He further said that the people of Kufa knew that Imam Hussain (A.S.) was on the path of truth, yet out of fear of Yazid’s oppression, they refrained from supporting him — a decision they deeply regretted. “It is better to rise against tyranny in time than to live in regret,” he emphasized.
Barrister Saif stated that Imam Hussain (A.S.) upheld the truth by refusing to yield before injustice, and in doing so, became the eternal symbol of righteousness for all of humanity. “The land of Karbala bears witness that those who walk the path of truth are never alone; God is with them,” he said.
He concluded by saying that Karbala teaches us that although the path of truth may be difficult, it is the only path to real success. “Imam Hussain’s (A.S.) stand against Yazid’s tyranny is a testament that those who remain steadfast in the face of oppression can never be defeated. Sacrifices made in the name of truth become a shining chapter in history.”
