Bajaur: The condolence gatherings for Maulana Khan Zaib, senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) and former National Assembly candidate, entered their second day at his residence in Nawagai, Bajaur. A large number of people from across the country—including political, religious, and social figures from various walks of life—continue to visit to pay tribute to the slain leader and express condolences to his family.

Among the prominent visitors were ANP central president Senator Aimal Wali Khan, former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti, former federal minister Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, and Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan. They visited Nawagai and expressed sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved family and party workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Aimal Wali Khan said that the martyrdom of Maulana Khan Zaib was not just a loss for his family or the ANP, but a tragedy for the entire Pashtun nation. He vowed to carry forward the martyred leader’s mission of peace.
In view of the large number of visitors and security concerns, strict security arrangements have been put in place in and around Maulana Khan Zaib’s residence.

It is worth noting that Maulana Khan Zaib was martyred on Thursday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him. His funeral prayer was held on Friday in his native town of Nawagai, Bajaur, where thousands of people—including his students, political workers, elders, and citizens—attended to pay their final respects.
