PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that welfare institutions are the shining beacons of service to humanity, the involvement of youth in welfare work is commendable, these youth are the bright future of our society who are laying the foundation of a compassionate, humane and better society.
He expressed these views while addressing the award distribution ceremony organized by the Pakistan Development Foundation at the Governor House Peshawar on Tuesday as the chief guest. 27 volunteers and workers who have rendered social services in various fields were awarded honorary awards in the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Chairman PDF Muhammad Bilal Sethi, renowned writer Abasin Yousafzai, Rukhsana Naheed, Rabia Basri, welfare workers and people from various fields. Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Bilal Sethi shed light on the aims and objectives of the foundation and thanked the Governor for organizing the ceremony at the Governor House.


The Governor appreciated the Pakistan Development Foundation’s activities in promoting education, supporting poor students, providing medical facilities and providing relief in natural disasters, saying that this institution is a manifestation of a mission, passion and determination. The Governor congratulated all the award-winning volunteers and appreciated their services for serving humanity. He said that people in Pakistan generously participate in welfare works, which is part of the beautiful tradition of our society. It is a matter of happiness that our young generation is carrying forward this spirit and helping the poor, orphans, sick and needy in collaboration with various charitable organizations and welfare groups. Their hard work and passion are a ray of hope for humanity, which is the guarantee of a better and compassionate society in the future. He said that the largest youth group is in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the youth will have to be made aware of the resources of the province and will have to play a role for peace and development in the province. The Governor also expressed the hope that the day is not far when Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be a peaceful, developed and prosperous province. The Governor said that the doors of the Governor House are always open for every class and this program is a clear proof that the Governor House will continue to fully encourage individuals and organizations engaged in such welfare activities in the future as well. He said that this month, an award ceremony will be organized at the Governor House for the stars who have brought glory to the province in various sports, in addition, Kisan Awards will also be organized very soon to encourage farmers. He said that he will also talk to the President, Prime Minister and provincial Chief Ministers to encourage farmers. Chairman PDF Muhammad Bilal Sethi also presented a shield of honor to the Governor on this occasion.
