PESHAWAR: Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Science & Information Technology, inaugurated the “Merged Areas Digital Connect” program in Jamrud, District Khyber. The inauguration ceremony was attended by local political representatives, tribal elders, youth, students, and members of the community.

Dr. Shafqat Ayaz stated that the program reflects the vision of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, which aims to integrate the merged districts into the national development stream by providing facilities in the sectors of education, health, and information technology.

He informed the gathering that this is the third inauguration under the Merged Areas Digital Connect initiative. Similar centers have already been launched in Bajaur and Orakzai, where regular activities are underway, and youth are being provided digital training.

The local community, political figures, and youth expressed their gratitude to Dr. Shafqat Ayaz and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that for the first time, their region is being equipped with modern education and digital training facilities.

Dr. Shafqat Ayaz reaffirmed the government’s commitment that this program will be expanded phase-wise to all merged districts, establishing IT hubs, freelancing courses, digital learning platforms, and modern facilities in each district.

He concluded by saying that this program is just the beginning, and in the coming days, every young person in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be empowered and dignified in the digital arena.
