SHANGLA: In a heart-wrenching incident near the Indus River in Union Council Kamach, Tehsil Martung, District Shangla, three young girls drowned while bathing by the riverside.
Local residents managed to rescue Gulei Bibi, daughter of Gul Sher Khan. However, two other girls remain missing, and search efforts are ongoing.
The missing have been identified as:
•Fatima Bibi (16), daughter of Sawab Syed
•Zulfa Bibi (14), daughter of Gul Sher Khan
Both were residents of Khwar, UC Kamach in Tehsil Martung.
Upon receiving the distress call, Rescue 1122 teams from Tor Ghar District swiftly arrived and began a coordinated search operation along the riverbank. Local volunteers have also joined hands, assisting tirelessly in rescue efforts.
The community remains in deep shock, and authorities continue to urge caution near rivers and water bodies, especially during monsoon season when currents can be dangerously strong.
