MARDAN – Vice Chancellor of CECOS University, Professor Dr. Naseer Ahmad, paid a visit to the Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) and inspected various sections of the organization. He was warmly received by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Engineer Adil Nawaz, who presented him with a bouquet of flowers. Principal of Mardan Youth Academy, Rashid Ahmad, also accompanied the Vice Chancellor during the visit.

Dr. Naseer Ahmad appreciated the initiatives and efforts undertaken by WSSCM for the cleanliness and beautification of Mardan.

General Manager Muhammad Khalil Akbar and Manager HR & Admin Rahatullah briefed the visiting delegates on the company’s operations and the sanitation services being provided to the citizens of Mardan. It was shared that WSSCM is currently delivering sanitation and clean water services across 14 union councils of the city.

To effectively address public concerns, a dedicated complaints cell has been established, operational from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM six days a week. Since the company’s inception, WSSCM has received 33,350 complaints, out of which 33,320 have been successfully resolved.

The Vice Chancellor was also informed about the establishment of a Citizen Liaison Cell aimed at promoting community engagement and enhancing public awareness on water and environmental conservation. As part of this initiative, weekly awareness sessions are held every Friday in major mosques, schools, and colleges across the city, encouraging citizens to contribute toward making Mardan a cleaner and more beautiful place.

A “Wall of Appreciation” has also been set up at the company’s premises, showcasing positive feedback and commendations from elected representatives and community elders.

Professor Dr. Naseer Ahmad expressed his gratitude to Engineer Adil Nawaz and the WSSCM management team for their commendable efforts in providing safe drinking water and maintaining urban cleanliness. He emphasized the importance of preparing students for future challenges and announced the university’s commitment to launching a joint awareness campaign with WSSCM to transform Mardan into a model city in terms of cleanliness and water conservation.
