PESHAWAR: In a landmark moment for the development of Teqball in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bilal Khan Sherpao has been unanimously elected as Chairman of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Teqball Association during a meeting. The meeting was chaired by Senior Vice President KP Teqball Association Taufique Ahmad. General Secretary Mian Wajahat Ali presented Bilal Khan nomination which was approved. Chairman, Pakistan Teqball Federation Rahat Mian and representative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association Kifayatullah Khan attended the meeting as observers. Mian Absar Ali, Founder of Teqball in Pakistan, Akhtar Rasool, Vice President, Shafiq Ahmad, Vice President, Yasir Islam Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ibrahim Shinwari, Executive Member, Khadija Associate Secretary, Muhammad Yaseen and Ms. Safa Marwa Athlete Commission Members were also present in the meeting.
Toufique Ahmad while addressing the meeting stated that “Like other parts of the world, Teqball has become one of the fastest-growing sports in Pakistan. I am delighted to share that one of our athletes from Peshawar will represent Pakistan at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain this October”.
Newly elected chairman Bilal Khan Sherpao said “I am honored to be entrusted with this responsibility. We are committed to promoting Teqball across the province, and we will actively encourage and support hidden talent from remote areas. Our aim is to make Teqball accessible for all.” He added that they will work to involve the government, private sector, and corporate stakeholders to give this sport the double boost it deserves, together, we will build a solid foundation for Teqball in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
