Kohat:The 38th Anniversary of Young Writers Equity Kohat, was celebrated in a grand ceremony, which held at Bacha Khan Library Kohat, the other day. The ceremony was presided over by the President Tajir Ittehad and renowned political and social figure Ameer Khan Afridi, while Baz Muhammad Khattak was the chief guest on the occasion.
The founder of the Equity and its incumbent president, Muhammad Jan Atif, performed the administrative duties.
The ceremony formally started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Muhammad Ehsan.
On this occasion, books of the 4 renowned Urdu poets of Kohat, Arif Bukhari, Dr. Haroon Adeel, Jamil Siraj and Arshad Naeem Qureshi were presented before the audience. .
The Chief Guest Baz Muhammad Khattak, while paying tributes to the invaluable services of the Equity founder Muhammad Jan Atif for the organization said that although he has joined the ranks of the elders but his passion is still young and effectively serving the literature, which is worthy of imitation and praise.
President of the event Ameer Khan Afridi said that poets have a very important role in the reformation of the society, which they have been playing with great dedication and zeal from the beginning. He on this occasion, also announced to organize a poetry gathering at his own expense in celebration of the Pakistan’s glorious victory in the recent war against India.
The prestigious literary ceremony was also attended by the poets, writers and people from different walks of life. On this occasion, a cake was also cut on eve of the organization’s 38th Anniversary.
