SWABI: Under the aegis of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Science & Technology, a grand event titled “Empowerment of Next Generation: AI and Cyber Security” was organized at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, Swabi, with Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Science & IT, attending as the chief guest. The three-day training workshop was specifically conducted for students from the Merged Areas, providing them with modern education and skills in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security. The chief guest, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, addressed the participants and emphasized that enabling youth, particularly from Merged Areas, in advanced technologies like AI and Cyber Security is one of the foremost priorities of the provincial government. On this occasion, Rector Dr. Fazal Khalid, along with several professors, lecturers, and students of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, also actively participated. Dr. Shafqat Ayaz highlighted that this training program will not only familiarize students with the latest trends in digital technologies but will also provide them with national and international employment and research opportunities. He further stressed that, according to the vision of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, empowering youth, fostering self-reliance, and equipping them with modern skills is a national mission. Following the same vision, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur is ensuring that the youth of the province, particularly those from the Merged Areas, are provided every possible opportunity to take a leading role in the digital world. During the workshop, experts provided detailed guidance and practical training on various aspects of Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, E-Commerce, and the Digital Economy. The participants termed the workshop a revolutionary initiative, emphasizing that such programs open new doors for students from Merged Areas in both educational and professional domains. In conclusion, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz stated that the Department of Science & Technology will continue to organize similar training programs in the future so that the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can play a leading role in shaping the country’s digital future and contribute to enhancing Pakistan’s recognition on a global scale.
