PESHAWAR:
On the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, SAFRON, and President of Pakistan Muslim League-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam addressed a public gathering in Peshawar, declaring:
“Youm-e-Takbeer is a symbol of Pakistan’s sovereignty and national unity.”

The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa organized a cake-cutting ceremony in celebration of Youm-e-Takbeer.

In his speech, Engineer Amir Muqam highlighted that under the leadership of Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan not only progressed significantly but also became a nuclear power, commanding global respect.
He said that in response to India’s five nuclear tests, Pakistan conducted six successful nuclear tests in the mountains of Chagai in 1998, balancing the power equation in South Asia and emerging as the first nuclear power in the Islamic world.

“This day is not only about becoming a nuclear power but is a reflection of national determination, sacrifices, and unity.”

“Today is an extremely important and historic day. On May 28, 1998, our leader pressed the button and carried out nuclear explosions, proving to the world that Pakistan is a nuclear-armed nation,” he added.

In his address, Engineer Amir Muqam paid tribute to former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, current Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Armed Forces of Pakistan, scientists, martyrs, and veterans who played a vital role in the defense of the homeland.

He emphasized that India’s humiliation today is the result of Nawaz Sharif’s vision and the bold and competent leadership of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir.

He praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for raising the nation’s flag with pride in every adversity—be it border defense or the fight against terrorism—and said that the military always lived up to the nation’s expectations.

Additionally, the Minister endorsed the decision to declare May 10, 2025, as “Youm-e-Tashakkur” (Day of Gratitude), announced by the Government of Pakistan as a day to honor national spirit and public support. He called for this day to be commemorated annually at the national level.

Engineer Amir Muqam also announced a grand public gathering in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, at 5 PM today, in connection with Youm-e-Takbeer. Thousands of Kashmiris are expected to attend to express solidarity with Pakistan and deliver a strong message to the world that Kashmir is an inseparable part of Pakistan.

He extended his gratitude to the people of Pakistan, especially overseas Pakistanis, and remarked that “such days serve as milestones in the history of nations and must be celebrated with full patriotic fervor to instill awareness of history, sacrifices, and national pride among future generations.”

He added that Pakistan has become the first nuclear power in the Islamic world, and that Youm-e-Takbeer is being commemorated today across all 36 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with enthusiasm and patriotism.

He reiterated that a massive rally would be held today in Azad Kashmir as part of the celebrations.
He further declared that May 10 would also be celebrated every year in a similar manner.

Engineer Amir Muqam lauded the Pakistan Army, saying:
“Our armed forces have proven to the entire world that they are among the best. They shattered India’s arrogance into dust.”

He paid tribute to the armed forces, parliamentarians, and the people of Pakistan for standing united with the military and helping to win this symbolic and strategic battle.

“Pakistan Zindabad, Pakistan Armed Forces Zindabad, and Youm-e-Takbeer Mubarak to the entire nation.”
