Damascus: In an impressive ceremony held at Pakistan Embassy Damascus, the Pakistani community in Syria celebrated the Youm-e-Tashakur (the Day of Gratitude) on 26 May 2025 to mark the success of Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos and pay tribute to valiant armed forces and nation of Pakistan.
The Charge d’affaires of Pakistan to Syria H.E Mr. Umer Hayat Khan hoisted the National Flag. A large number of Pakistani community, staff and students of PISOD, officials of Pakistan embassy, local elites and media representatives also attended the ceremony.
In his keynote address, the Charge d’affaires apprised the audience about Indian aggression and contours of Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos and stated that the entire Pakistani nation stood tall at a proud and historic moment where the nation has shown the world that no force, no aggression, and no provocation can undermine the foundations of our sovereignty and unshakable national resolve.
Mr. Umer Khan paid rich tribute to Pakistan’s heroic armed forces; who stood as an unyielding shield to defend our sacred land. He emphasized that Pakistan has always desired for peaceful coexistence in the region, yet let it be known with absolute clarity that any act of aggression against Pakistan will be met with a response that is stronger, swifter and more resolute than ever before.
The CdA appreciated the invaluable support and love of Pakistanis for their motherland. He emphasized that Pakistan is a peace loving nation and respects international law. However, the valiant armed forces and people of Pakistan are always ready to defend our country against any aggression.
On this occasion, it was reiterated that Pakistan is fully capable of defending its borders and its people and that the people of Pakistan stand in unity with their armed forces to fend off any aggression against their beloved homeland.
