Islamabad – The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Islamabad proudly celebrated the 75th Anniversary of Indonesia–Pakistan Diplomatic Relations under the inspiring theme, “75 Years of Enduring Friendship and Trust between Indonesia and Pakistan.” The event stood out as one of the most distinguished and well-organized receptions ever hosted by an ASEAN nation in Pakistan, reflecting the close and cordial relations between the two brotherly countries.
Under the visionary leadership and direction of Lt Gen (Retd) Mr. Chandra W. Sukotjo, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan, the Embassy successfully captured the hearts of the Pakistani people, showcasing the deep cultural and historical bonds shared by both nations.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, who attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr. Chaudhary extended warm congratulations to the Government and people of Indonesia, emphasizing the long-standing and deeply rooted friendship that has flourished between the two countries over the past seven decades.
The evening featured a captivating array of cultural performances, reflecting the vibrant traditions of both nations. Highlights included presentations by the Embassy’s Women Association, talented young performers from Indonesia and Pakistan, and a special performance by Paguyuban Citra, a renowned Indonesian cultural troupe led by Madam Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar, former Minister in the Indonesian Cabinet. The performances beautifully symbolized unity in diversity, strengthening people-to-people connections and promoting mutual understanding.

In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Chandra W. Sukotjo expressed heartfelt appreciation to the entire Embassy team and all partners whose dedication and efforts ensured the success of this memorable celebration. He reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to further enhancing cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of trade, investment, culture, and education, paving the way for an even brighter shared future.
The grand evening concluded with a spirited cheer echoing through the hall:
“Indonesia–Pakistan Dosti Zindabad!” — a fitting tribute to 75 years of unwavering friendship, trust, and mutual respect between the two nations.
