MARDAN: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan, paid a surprise visit to the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Police Station Mardan on Saturday afternoon.

During the visit, the provincial minister inspected the station’s record, maal khana (storehouse)lock-up and reviewed the staff attendance register, while the station muharrar and other officials briefed him on anti-narcotics operations and ongoing activities within the station’s jurisdiction.

The minister directed the concerned staff to ensure swift and strict action against drug dealers and all those involved in the narcotics menace in accordance with the law.

He said the provincial government maintains a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, and no leniency will be shown to anyone involved in this destructive business.

“Those engaged in the narcotics menace are enemies of our future generations,” he stated, adding that the department’s officers and staff have been clearly instructed that negligence or complacency at any level will not be tolerated.

Syed Fakhar Jehan further said that under the vision of PTI’s founding chairman Imran Khan and the leadership of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government is fully committed to making Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a drug-free province, so that the younger generation can be protected from this devastating menace.
