Bajaur: The District Administration Bajaur carried out a robust anti-encroachment operation in Khar Bazar, removing illegal encroachments from footpaths and public spaces and arresting 16 individuals for repeated violations. The action not only provided relief to pedestrians but also improved traffic flow in the busy marketplace.
The special drive was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Khar, Dr. Sadiq Ali, in line with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Awami Agenda and on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Bajaur. The operation involved Assistant Commissioner Khar-II Arshad Kamal, Assistant Commissioner Khar-I Muhammad Nisar, Tehsildar Khar Habib-ur-Rehman, DSP Khar, SHO Khar, officials of TMA Khar, traffic police, and other concerned staff.
According to the administration, during the drive, goods and temporary structures placed by shopkeepers on footpaths and roads were removed. Shopkeepers were strictly directed to refrain from any form of encroachment on public spaces in the future. Officials made it clear that strict legal action would be taken against repeat offenders in accordance with the law.
The District Administration Bajaur stated that keeping public pathways clear, improving civic facilities, and ensuring the rule of law remain its top priorities. The administration has also indicated that such anti-encroachment operations will continue indiscriminately in the future to eliminate illegal occupations and to provide citizens with a safe and well-organized environment.
