TAKHT BHAI: Adil Syed, an international boxing player, coach, and promoter from Mardan, stated that despite the provincial government’s lack of attention, boxers from the province are shining at national and international levels through self-help.He made this statement while talking to the media at Takht Bhai Press Club Registered, accompanied by national champions Aisha Malik, Nida Kishor, Komal Bibi, and Rahman Gul Hashmi.Syed said the government’s efforts to promote sports are minimal, and boxers lack infrastructure, facilities, and support. Despite this, talented boxers participate in national and international competitions, bearing expenses themselves.He urged the government to focus on boxing and other sports, establish modern training centers, and provide financial and moral support to athletes.
Discussing women’s boxing, Syed highlighted social, economic, and institutional challenges faced by female players, including societal attitudes, lack of separate training centers, coaching, and equipment, as well as security concerns and harassment.
He demanded serious government action to promote sports and support talented athletes, enabling the province to regain its lost position in the sports arena.
