Bajaur: A nearly 34-year-old longstanding dispute in the Koka Atman Khel area of Bajaur district has finally been resolved through mutual agreement. The deep-rooted enmity between the two parties was transformed into reconciliation thanks to persistent efforts by the Jirga system and local elders, bringing hope for peace and stability in the region.
According to sources, the conflict between Malik Noor Syed Umar Khel and Fazal-ur-Rehman Mandro Khel had remained unresolved for decades despite several Jirgas held in the past. However, in the latest development, local elders, particularly Malik Ghaus-ur-Rehman Shamozi and SHO Moatabar Khan, played a pivotal role in bringing both sides to the negotiating table.
Following the reconciliation, a formal ceremony was held, attended by people from various segments of the local community, who welcomed the development as a positive step toward regional peace. Participants expressed hope that such initiatives would strengthen the tradition of resolving disputes peacefully in the future.
Sources noted that this reconciliation between the parties is being presented as a model for maintaining peace in other parts of Bajaur. Local residents said that the mediation by the Jirga and elders played a crucial role in ending the longstanding enmity and paved the way for lasting harmony in the area.
