ABBOTTABAD: A five-day Training of Trainers (TOT) for teachers concluded at the Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) Female Abbottabad, preparing 32 master trainers from four districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to train Girls Community Schools (GCS) teachers under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project (KP-HCIP).
The participants, representing Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, and Haripur, will go on to train 450 GCS teachers working in these project districts. The initiative was organized by the Directorate of Professional Development (DPD) with the support of KP-HCIP.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Managing Director Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation, Mr. Qaisar Alam, said the basic aim of the training was to enhance the professional skills of teachers so they could deliver quality education in remote and underserved communities. He emphasized that the GCS model is designed to provide educational opportunities to out-of-school girls, and that well-trained teachers are the key to ensuring its success.
He further noted that capacity building initiatives such as for the first time in the educational history of KP, ESEF conducted digital assessment of the teachers for not only improve classroom practices but also contribute to raising the overall quality of education in the province. “Our teachers are the foundation of the education system, and empowering them with the right skills is an investment in the future of our children,” he remarked.
At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Alam distributed training completion certificates among the participants, commending their dedication and expressing hope that they will serve as catalysts for improving teaching standards across the province.
