PESHAWAR: Dr. Naila Gul, Lecturer at the Department of Zoology, Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST), on Monday successfully completed her PhD in Zoology.
Her groundbreaking research focused on the “Drug-Resistance and Virulence Profile of Enterobacteriaceae Isolated from Migratory Birds in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan”.
Dr. Naila Gul conducted her research under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shahid Niaz Khan (Department of Zoology, KUST) and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qasim (Department of Microbiology, KUST). Her work explores the role of migratory birds as carriers of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, offering crucial insights into zoonotic disease transmission and antimicrobial resistance in the region.
The evaluation of her PhD thesis was carried out by esteemed external examiners, Prof. Dr. Mian Sayed Khan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Swabi, and Prof. Dr. Jabbar Khan, Director of the Institute of Biological Sciences at Gomal University, D.I. Khan. Dr. Farman Ullah, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at KUST, served as the internal examiner.
