Rabat: The Republic of Senegal has reiterated its firm and steadfast support for the Kingdom of Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire national territory, including the Sahara region.
This position was reaffirmed in a Joint Communiqué adopted on Monday in Rabat following the meeting of the Morocco–Senegal High Joint Partnership Commission, co-chaired by Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch and Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
On this occasion, the Senegalese side renewed its full support for the autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom of Morocco under its sovereignty, describing it as the only credible, serious, and realistic solution to resolving the regional dispute within the exclusive framework of the United Nations.
Senegal also welcomed the historic adoption on October 31, 2025, by the United Nations Security Council of Resolution 2797, which endorses, within the framework of Moroccan sovereignty, the autonomy plan presented by Morocco as the sole serious, credible, and lasting basis for achieving a political solution to the issue.
