Dera Ismail Khan: SDEO Tehsil Dera Dr. Humayun Khan Khattak formally inaugurated an Early Childhood Care (ECC) room at Government Primary School Thuya Fazil No. 1.
The ceremony was attended by Circle ASDEO Rehmatullah Baloch, Head Master Government Middle School Himmat Adda Qaiser Shakeel, Head Teacher Amjad Qureshi, teachers, and local elders.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Humayun Khan Khattak stated that 20 ECC rooms have so far been established across Tehsil Dera, adding that the facility will soon be extended to all government schools in the area. He said the provincial government is introducing a modern education system in public schools to replace traditional blackboard-based teaching with interactive and practical learning methods.
He explained that the objective of ECC rooms is to actively engage children in the learning process, significantly enhancing their mental and physical development. These rooms are particularly beneficial for playgroup and nursery classes, as they create a child-friendly and stimulating environment.
Dr. Khattak further informed that teachers assigned to ECC rooms are being provided regular training and teaching boxes to ensure effective use of modern instructional materials. He urged teachers to utilize their professional skills with dedication to further improve the quality of education.
He added that with the support of DCT, regular teacher training programs are being initiated and all educational activities are being aligned with the SLO (Student Learning Outcomes) system to eliminate the traditional rota system and ensure measurable academic progress.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the SDEO directed teachers to make effective use of government-provided incentives and resources, emphasizing that responsible utilization of facilities is essential for delivering quality and modern education to children.
