PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday strongly condemned the attack by Indian-backed militants on a security forces convoy in Bannu district and paid tribute to the martyred personnel.

The Governor lauded the security forces for their professional expertise and bravery in eliminating five attackers during the operation.

He said the timely response of the forces averted a major tragedy and saved Bannu city from significant damage.

The Governor paid rich tribute to martyred Lieutenant Colonel Shehzada Gul Faraz and Sepoy Kiramat Shah, who embraced martyrdom during the attack.

He expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy with the bereaved families and prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks.

He said that martyred Lieutenant Colonel Shehzada Gul Faraz demonstrated courageous leadership and valor in thwarting the terrorists’ assault. Such cowardly acts, he added, could not weaken the resolve and determination of the nation in the fight against terrorism.

The Governor reiterated that the bravery and unwavering commitment of the security forces against terrorists were commendable and a source of pride for the entire nation.
