In this regard, a high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, to assess progress on various initiatives.

The meeting was informed that work is underway on the establishment of wastewater treatment plants in Peshawar, Swat, D.I. Khan, and Abbottabad to improve urban drainage systems and reduce environmental pollution.

Under the Good Governance Roadmap, special measures are being taken to improve cleanliness at bus terminals, fruit and vegetable markets, cattle markets, and slaughterhouses. Data collection for the installation of manholes across the province is also in progress to strengthen the drainage infrastructure.

Participants were told that a data-driven digital dashboard is being developed to support informed decision-making.

Additionally, suitable sites at the tehsil level are being identified for dumping grounds. The department is also formulating a strategy for waste-to-energy projects to generate energy from solid waste.

A regular system for cleaning drains and nullahs is being enforced, while the improvement of public parks and green belts has also been made a key component of the roadmap. Efforts are being accelerated to identify and address waterlogging points in urban areas.

During the holy month of Ramazan, special cleanliness arrangements have been ensured at Ramazan bazaars, Ramazan dastarkhwans, and other welfare-related locations.

Similarly, planning has been finalized for special sanitation measures during Eid-ul-Fitr to provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment.

To ensure prompt redressal of public grievances, online Khuli Kacheris are being held regularly, enabling citizens to directly communicate their complaints and suggestions to the relevant authorities.

The Chief Secretary directed the concerned officials to further strengthen implementation of the Good Governance Roadmap and ensure transparency, efficiency, and improved pace in the delivery of public services.
