Mardan: In a vibrant effort to nurture intellectual curiosity and revive the culture of reading, the Central Library of Women University Mardan successfully organized a four-day book exhibition across its Main Campus, Mardan, and Bakhshali Campus. The exhibition was held for two days at each campus, with book stalls thoughtfully arranged to provide students and faculty convenient access to a wide range of quality publications.
The primary objective of the exhibition was to instill and strengthen the habit of reading among students, emphasize the value of books in personal and academic growth, and enhance intellectual awareness through exposure to diverse and scholarly resources.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and faculty members, who explored and purchased books covering various disciplines for both personal enrichment and academic advancement. Prominent booksellers showcased an impressive collection of carefully selected titles from multiple fields of knowledge, drawing keen interest from visitors throughout the exhibition.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Razia Sultana, visited the exhibition at both campuses and commended the dedicated efforts of the Central Library team. In her message, she underscored that reading quality literature is fundamental to intellectual development, character building, and cultivating a broad and enlightened perspective. She encouraged students to integrate extracurricular reading into their daily routines alongside their formal academic pursuits.
Highlighting the challenges of the digital era, she remarked that sustaining a meaningful connection with books is essential for shaping a thoughtful, responsible, and well-informed society. She further noted that such academic initiatives significantly contribute to the intellectual and scholarly growth of students and reinforce the university’s commitment to promoting a vibrant learning environment.
