KARACHI: Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan has placed the city on high alert and ordered enhanced security measures across the metropolis in light of the ongoing tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border according to the spokesperson for the Karachi Police.

Under the directives, Karachi Police has been instructed to remain fully mobilized and further reinforce security arrangements while maintaining strict vigilance against any unusual or suspicious activity.

The police chief emphasized heightened security at all sensitive installations, including key government and semi-government offices, prominent buildings, airports, railway stations, bus terminals, and other crowded public spaces. Officers have been directed to ensure that protective measures are comprehensive, proactive, and effectively implemented.

Special instructions have also been issued to strengthen intelligence gathering around mosques, madaris, imambargahs, and other potentially sensitive locations. Furthermore, districts and zonal police officers have been directed to intensify patrolling, picketing, and snap-checking operations. Dedicated checkpoints will be established for random inspections to ensure effective monitoring and deterrence throughout the city.

Citizens have been urged to immediately report any suspicious activity, individuals, or unattended vehicles or bags to Madadgar-15 or the nearest mobile police station to help ensure collective security across the city.
