Yahya Khan Sadozai appointed Chairman; Rafi Niazi named Deputy Chairman

Karachi: The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has officially announced the formation of its Islamabad/Rawalpindi Committee for the term 2025–2026. Prominent journalist Yahya Sadozai has been appointed as the Chairman, while Rafi Niazi will serve as the Deputy Chairman.

The committee comprises leading media figures including Tahir Farooq, Shakeel Ahmed Turabi, Adeel Warraich, Aamir Ilyas Rana, Rao Khalid Mahmood, Salman Masood, Mian Abrar, Javed Baloch, Abdul Salam Bath, Tazeen Akhtar, Sajjad Abbasi, Mian Fazal Elahi, Qasoor Jamil Rouhani, Syed Safir Hussain Shah, and Muhammad Ali Zanjani.

According to the CPNE, the newly formed committee will focus on protecting the interests of member newspapers and magazines operating in the federal capital and Rawalpindi. It will also organize key print media activities such as seminars, workshops, and public events aimed at promoting high standards in journalism.

In addition, the committee is tasked with supporting the CPNE Standing Committee in arranging meetings and functions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, addressing press-related issues, and promoting the role and relevance of the press through various awareness programs.
