ISLAMABAD: Freedom Gate Prosperity (FGP), in collaboration with Accountability Lab Pakistan and Hamdard University Islamabad Campus, launched From Idea to Impact, a book by Dr. Shahbaz Tariq, aimed at guiding young people on how to transform ideas into practical entrepreneurial ventures. The book provides a practical framework for aspiring entrepreneurs, focusing on identifying opportunities, understanding legal and regulatory requirements, assessing challenges, and developing workable solutions for sustainable businesses.

Chairperson of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, who attended the event as chief guest, described the book as a timely and practical resource for young people navigating Pakistan’s challenging economic environment. She said the book offers practical guidance rather than theoretical discussion and stressed that entrepreneurship should extend beyond technology startups to include small businesses and social enterprises addressing community needs.

Muhammad Anwar, CEO of Freedom Gate Prosperity, highlighted the importance of such publications ms that equip youth with practical knowledge and tools to pursue entrepreneurship and contribute to economic development.

Speaking about his motivation for writing the book, Dr. Shahbaz Tariq said the idea emerged from his interactions with students who often express a desire to create impact but lack practical guidance on how to develop sustainable ventures. He noted that many aspiring entrepreneurs identify opportunities but lack planning and skills, which can lead to financial setbacks, and the book seeks to bridge that gap by providing practical direction.

Syed Raza Ali, Program Manager at Accountability Lab Pakistan, while commending the work, emphasized the importance of collaborative initiatives that encourage innovation, transparency and youth engagement in development processes. Shahzad Afzal Kayani, Director Quality Enhancement Cell at Hamdard University, noted that guidelines provided by Dr Shahbaz in his book, can play a key role in nurturing entrepreneurial thinking and connecting students with practical opportunities.

Dr. Ansar Abbas, Associate Dean at the Faculty of Management Sciences, Hamdard University, highlighted the role of universities in promoting research, mentorship and skills that help students turn innovative ideas into sustainable ventures. The event concluded with an interactive discussion where participants stressed the need for stronger mentorship, incubation platforms and institutional support to help young entrepreneurs translate ideas into viable enterprises.
