PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agriculture Department organized online Khuli Kachehri, chaired by Secretary Agriculture Dr. Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan. Farmers from across the province participated online and directly presented their issues, complaints and suggestions to the Secretary agriculture.
Senior officials of the Agriculture Department were also in attendance.
Addressing the forum, Dr. Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan stated that ensuring transparency, merit and improved service delivery within the department remains a top priority.
He emphasized that corruption, irregularities and misuse of authority will not be tolerated, adding that strict action will be taken without delay wherever such practices are identified.
He urged the public, particularly the farming community to report any shortcomings or negligence within the department so that timely corrective measures can be taken. He noted that such feedback would not only enhance the department’s performance but also help improve services for farmers.
Secretary Agriculture department further stated that department is committed to providing modern agricultural facilities to farmers, increasing agricultural productivity and putting the agriculture sector on a path of sustainable growth.
He reaffirmed the department’s resolve to utilize all available resources for the development of agriculture, with special focus on promoting modern technology, farmer guidance and facilitation.
He advised farmers to remain in regular contact with the Agriculture Department and to share their suggestions, recommendations and concerns in a timely manner, so that policies and practical measures can be made more effective. He added that farmers’ input is of vital importance and that sustainable improvement in agriculture is only possible through their consultation.
Dr. Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan also highlighted that concrete and effective measures are being taken to improve the overall performance of the Agriculture Department.
He directed District Directors of Agriculture to ensure prompt resolution of farmers’ issues in their respective districts, increase their field presence and ensure effective implementation of government policies.
He expressed hope that, in line with Chief Minister’s directives and Chief Secretary’s good governance reforms, the organization of such online Khuli Kachari will further strengthen coordination between farmers and Agriculture Department.
