DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A meeting of the Tehsil Majlis-e-Omumi of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam was held under the chairmanship of Tehsil Ameer JUI Kafeel Ahmed Nizami at Mufti Mahmood Markaz, GPO Chowk, Dera Ismail Khan.
The special guest on the occasion was Maulana Lutfur Rehman, District Ameer JUI and Parliamentary Leader of JUI in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The meeting was attended by Qari Umair Farooqi, Chaudhry Ashfaq Advocate, Mufti Abdul Wahid Qureshi, Malik Ikram Esra Advocate, and other party leaders and workers.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Lutfur Rehman said that whenever a party is in government, it also holds practical authority to establish law and order through political and administrative measures. He stated that although JUI is not part of the provincial government, the party is actively struggling at the political level for the restoration of peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the issue of law and order is entirely the responsibility of the provincial government and that the Constitution also binds it to fulfill this duty. Referring to a recent ceremony organized by the KP government to take political parties into confidence, he said that Parliament had assured full cooperation for peace efforts, but the government had yet to present a clear policy.
Maulana Lutfur Rehman added that opposition parties have repeatedly asked the government to clarify whether it intends to launch an operation, pursue dialogue, or adopt another strategy so that constructive suggestions can be offered. He emphasized that JUI has consistently conveyed its willingness to cooperate and consult with the government at all levels if serious efforts are made for peace.
Speaking on the occasion, Tehsil Ameer JUI Kafeel Ahmed Nizami said that JUI is a nationwide political party and that its chief, Fazlur Rehman, has always struggled for the supremacy of Islam and the protection of public rights both inside and outside Parliament.
He said that JUI continues to remain a strong and active political force in Dera Ismail Khan and that party workers are actively engaged in spreading the party’s message at every level.
At the end of the meeting, awards were distributed among party officials in recognition of their outstanding organizational performance.
