Peshawar: Renowned anchor, host, and media personality Jamshed Ali Khan will be conferred with the Pride of Performance and Tamgha-e-Husn-e-Karkardagi in recognition of his outstanding services in the fields of media, culture, and broadcasting. A formal ceremony will be held at the Governor House Peshawar, where Governor Faisal Karim Kundi will present the national honor to him. The ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM and will be broadcast live on Khyber Television.
Jamshed Ali Khan is counted among Pakistan’s most distinguished anchors, compères, and media figures, having rendered remarkable services for nearly four decades in electronic media, cultural events, and national and international programs. He has not only hosted major television shows in Pakistan but has also represented the country on various international platforms.
According to sources, Jamshed Ali Khan has been associated with Khyber Television for the past two decades as General Manager. Prior to this, he also hosted several important programs on Pakistan Television (PTV). He is regarded as one of the personalities who gave a unique identity to stage and television hosting in Pakistan.
One of the most notable milestones of his career is his long-running hosting of the famous program “Khyber Show,” which was previously associated with legendary host Tariq Aziz. Jamshed Ali Khan has been continuously hosting this program for nearly 22 years.
Throughout his professional career, he has hosted numerous national day events including 14th August, 23rd March, and 6th September celebrations, and has also performed hosting duties at high-profile events attended by the President of Pakistan, Prime Ministers, Army Chiefs, Governors, and Chief Ministers.
At the international level as well, Jamshed Ali Khan has represented Pakistan with distinction. During Expo 2022 in Dubai, he served as both host and organizer, performing duties for one month in various events, which were widely appreciated by participants and organizers alike.
Professionally, Jamshed Ali Khan is also an electrical engineer. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Agriculture Peshawar. According to media experts, his combination of education, administrative skills, and hosting talent has earned him a unique place in the media industry.
He has previously been honored multiple times by Pakistan Television with the Best Compère Award, along with several other national and international awards from radio and cultural institutions. He has also played a significant role in promoting Pakistan’s cultural identity abroad.
Journalistic, literary, and cultural circles have expressed happiness over the announcement of the award, stating that it is a matter of pride for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan’s media community. They also expressed hope that Jamshed Ali Khan will continue to guide and inspire the younger generation in the future as well.
