DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Commissioner Dera Division Dawood Khan has said that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is in the final stages of recruiting 153 medical officers, 127 nurses, and 33 dental surgeons to ensure timely and quality healthcare services at Basic Health Units (BHUs) across Dera Division.

Talking to the media in his office, the commissioner said the initiative aims to improve healthcare facilities in rural and backward areas and provide treatment facilities at the doorstep of the public. Assistant to Commissioner (Political and Development) Sajjad Baloch was also present on the occasion.

Commissioner Dawood Khan said that, on the directives of the provincial government, commissioners across the province were appointed as chairmen of recruitment committees to ensure transparent and merit-based hiring. He added that each committee also included seven additional members.

He said candidates were provided with proper seating arrangements, a cool environment, and protection from extreme heat during the interview process. Candidates unable to appear physically due to unavoidable circumstances were also facilitated through online interviews to ensure fairness and equal opportunity.

The commissioner clarified that all appointments are being made strictly on merit through a transparent process. He added that after the completion of these recruitments, the shortage of doctors, nurses, and dental surgeons at BHUs and other health centres would largely be overcome, enabling the public to receive timely and quality medical care.
