Bajaur: Social activist Rahmatullah Mamund from the tribal district of Bajaur has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly the tribal districts, has once again fallen into the grip of violence, fear, and terrorism, leaving the younger generation under severe psychological stress, insecurity, and hopelessness.
In a statement, Rahmatullah Mamund said that daily incidents of bomb blasts, target killings, suicide attacks, and shootings in Bajaur, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, North Waziristan, and other areas have made life miserable for the people. He said that several precious lives were lost in recent terrorist incidents, including the targeted killing of renowned religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Idris and a suicide attack on police in Bannu, where nearly 15 people were killed.
Rahmatullah Mamund stated that these recent incidents have created an atmosphere of fear and panic among the public, especially the youth. According to him, students attending educational institutions are feeling unsafe, while unemployment and uncertainty are pushing young people toward mental stress and despair. He expressed concern that such conditions could make some youth easy targets for extremist propaganda.
He further said that women are also suffering from the negative impacts of terrorism, as fear and insecurity are affecting their education, employment, and social activities. According to him, the worsening law and order situation has exposed many families to psychological problems and social hardships.
The social activist said that terrorism is no longer confined to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone, but its effects are spreading to other parts of the country as well. He urged the government to take effective and indiscriminate action against terrorists and their facilitators, and to ensure practical measures for providing youth with education, employment opportunities, and a peaceful environment.
Rahmatullah Mamund warned that if the situation is not brought under control immediately, its negative consequences will continue to affect future generations and could push the country toward further instability.
