PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has expressed serious concern over reports about the health of Imran Khan, calling for his treatment under the supervision of his personal physicians and in the presence of his family.
Speaking to the media while participating in a sit-in outside the Supreme Court, the Chief Minister said the nation had serious reservations about Imran Khan’s wellbeing and stressed that his health should not be politicised.
Sohail Afridi recalled that during Imran Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif was allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment despite questions surrounding his medical certificates.
He said Imran Khan was now being denied fundamental human rights and access to justice, describing the situation as deeply concerning.
The Chief Minister also criticised the justice system, saying the judiciary was facing a serious test of its institutional integrity. He urged judges to uphold justice, constitutional supremacy and the rule of law.
Sohail Afridi further warned that continued injustice and oppression could deepen public resentment. He urged the rulers and decision-makers to understand the gravity of the situation and take steps towards justice and constitutional supremacy before September 27.
