SWAT:Syed Fida Hassan Shah, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Malakand Division, has said that Malakand Division is a peaceful and secure region where tourists from across the country can visit freely and enjoy its scenic beauty, valleys and tourist attractions without fear.
Talking to media representatives at his office in Swat, the DIG said the overall law and order situation in Malakand Division is satisfactory and that security arrangements have been further strengthened across the region. He said police patrolling has been increased at sensitive points, entry and exit routes, markets and tourist destinations to ensure a safe environment for residents and visitors alike.
Syed Fida Hassan Shah stated that the police force is professionally trained according to modern requirements and is fully prepared to deal with any emergency or untoward situation. He added that operations against criminals, anti-social elements and those trying to disrupt peace are continuing throughout the division, and no leniency would be shown to lawbreakers.
He said the police, with the cooperation of the public, are taking effective measures to maintain lasting peace in the region. He urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies so that timely action can be taken against potential threats.
The DIG also assured tourists from across the country that all tourist destinations in Malakand Division are completely safe and secure, adding that visitors can travel freely to enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of the region while police continue to ensure their protection and facilitation.
