PROVINCE REPORT
ISLAMABAD: A high-level roundtable titled “Shared Responsibility, Shared Resilience: Climate Action in Pakistan” concluded successfully under the convening of the Climate Action Forum in collaboration with Sustainable Initiatives Foundation and Institute of Rural Management.
The session was attended by the Guest of Honour, Amir Mohyuddin.
Prominent speakers included Dr. Roomi S. Hayat, Dr. Altaf Abro, Amir Khan Goraya, Air Commodore Umar Naeem, Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, Fauzia B. Malik, Shahzadi Kiran, Ahmed Kamal, Javed Iqbal, Thomas Conan, Shandana Khan, Muzaffar Ud Din and Junaid Yamin, along with representatives from Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency and Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The roundtable brought together policymakers, climate experts, development practitioners, academia and civil society representatives to discuss Pakistan’s evolving climate priorities ahead of the Pre-COP consultations and COP31. Deliberations focused on inclusive climate resilience, climate governance, just transition pathways, climate finance and community-centered adaptation strategies.
Participants concluded the session with a collective commitment to strengthening collaborative, evidence-based climate action for building a more resilient Pakistan.
