ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a gang involved in illegal organ trafficking, specifically the extraction and sale of human kidneys to wealthy individuals, including Arab nationals. According to sources, the group targeted vulnerable and impoverished individuals from districts in the Saraiki belt, including Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan. These individuals were allegedly lured into selling their kidneys for a few hundred thousand rupees, while the gang profited by selling the organs for significantly higher amounts. Investigations revealed that the extracted kidneys were either sold to affluent patients within Pakistan or to Arab sheikhs who visit the country, often for hunting expeditions. Many of the buyers are reportedly individuals suffering from kidney failure due to excessive alcohol consumption or substance abuse. Acting on the directives of Director Syed Shehzad Bukhari, the FIA Islamabad conducted a successful operation, marking a major breakthrough against the network. Authorities have launched further raids to apprehend other members of the gang.
More revelations are expected as investigations continue into the network’s operations, including details of buyers and the methods used for organ trafficking.The group is involved getting huge sums of money from recipients of kidney and paying nominal amounts to kidney donors. It is a big question mark on the performance of law enforcement agencies that how these gangs operate covertly
