PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports, Taj Muhammad Tarand, has congratulated the province’s talented young athlete, Masood Khan, on setting a world record by completing a continuous 800-kilometer run from Peshawar to Skardu.
In a statement, Taj Muhammad Tarand said that Masood Khan’s extraordinary determination, courage, and athletic ability have brought honor not only to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also to Pakistan on the international stage.
He said that such dedicated and courageous youth are a source of pride for the nation, adding that they are creating new history through their hard work, commitment, and passion for excellence.
The Sports Adviser recalled that he had personally met Masood Khan before the start of his historic journey from Peshawar and had assured him of full encouragement and support from the provincial government.
Taj Muhammad Tarand stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is taking practical measures to promote sports, support emerging talent, and provide athletes with opportunities to showcase their abilities at national and international levels.
He emphasized that the government remains committed to nurturing young athletes and creating an environment where they can achieve global recognition through their talent and dedication.
It is pertinent to mention that before Masood Khan’s departure for Skardu, the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provided him with financial assistance of Rs150,000 to support his record-setting endeavor.
The Sports Adviser reiterated that the provincial government would continue to fully encourage and support Masood Khan in recognition of his remarkable achievement and contribution to Pakistan’s sporting image.
