PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minority Sports Festival, organized under the auspices of the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, concluded with thrilling competitions in musical chair, football, cricket, tug of war, and other events, followed by a prize distribution ceremony for the winners.
In the competitions, Wazirzada secured first position in the musical chair event, while Senior Shoban and Junior Garik emerged victorious in the food competition. Hazara Region won the cricket championship by defeating the South Region team in the final. In football, South Region claimed the title, while Malakand Region finished as runners-up. In the tug of war competition, Minority XI defeated the Sports Department team to secure victory.
Former Member Provincial Assembly and President of Insaf Minority Wing Wazirzada, along with former MPA and Secretary of Insaf Minority Wing Ravi Kumar, attended the ceremony as chief guests and distributed trophies and prizes among the winning players.
The ceremony was also attended by Director Operations Jamshed Baloch, Deputy Director Sports Kashif Farhan, Senior Vice President Waqas Khokhar, Director Establishment Naimatullah Marwat, Faisal Javed, Saeed Akhtar, Irshad Khan, Adnan Joseph, and other distinguished guests.
Addressing the participants, Ravi Kumar said that the provincial government is taking practical steps to provide equal sporting opportunities to players from minority communities. He described the Minority Sports Festival as an important initiative for promoting inclusion and encouraging sports talent among minority youth.

He added that the festival was organized in line with the vision and directives of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, and assured that similar events would continue in the future to further strengthen sports activities among minority communities across the province.
