ISLAMABAD: Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Harerimana Fatou, witnessed the signing ceremony of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) and the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) on June 3.

The agreement marks a significant milestone in the growing bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Rwanda and reflects the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening cooperation in the peaceful applications of nuclear energy for sustainable national development.

The MoU is expected to enhance collaboration between the two regulatory authorities through the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices in nuclear regulation and safety, contributing to the advancement of peaceful nuclear technologies.

Speaking on the occasion, officials highlighted that the agreement demonstrates the mutual desire of Pakistan and Rwanda to deepen institutional cooperation and foster stronger ties in areas of scientific and technological development.

The signing ceremony underscored the importance both nations place on international cooperation, capacity building, and the responsible use of nuclear energy to support socioeconomic progress and development objectives.

The landmark agreement is being viewed as another positive step toward expanding Pakistan-Rwanda relations and opening new avenues of collaboration in specialized technical sectors.
